Newcomer Supply Aminoalkylsilane Slide Adhesive is a working adhesive solution used to treat glass microscope slides and provide an exceptionally strong tissue adhesion for paraffin and frozen sections, while leaving very minimal or no background staining.



Technique:  Paraffin or frozen sections     

Solutions:  All solutions are manufactured by Newcomer Supply, Inc.



  1. Fill slide rack(s) with clean dry slides.
  1. If necessary, clean racked slides in 4-5 dips of Acetone (Part 10014).
  1. Shake bottle of Aminoalkylsilane Slide Adhesive well before use. Pour solution into an appropriate size staining dish, using sufficient solution to completely cover racked slides. Keep solution covered to avoid evaporation.
  2. Soak racked slides in the Aminoalkylsilane Slide Adhesive for 2 minutes.

  1. Rinse slide rack(s) well in three changes of distilled water; 5 dips each. 
  1. Thorough rinsing will remove excess adhesive and reduce the occurrence of background staining.
  1. Drain slides.  Blot and tap excess water from slides/racks to prevent water spotting.
  2. Dry racked slides in a 60°C oven for a minimum of 30 minutes or overnight at room temperature.
  3. Store dried treated slides in a clean slide box at room temperature.

    1. If slides are not thoroughly dried before storing they will adhere together.
  1. ​Wash emptied slide racks after use to ensure all adhesive is removed.



  1. Store used Aminoalkylsilane Slide Adhesive in a separate well sealed container; reuse for up to three weeks.
  2. 250 ml of Aminoalkylsilane Slide Adhesive will treat 400 slides.
  3. Aminoalkylsilane Slide Adhesive is initially clear or light amber in color and may become cloudy and/or turn darker in color as it ages.  Adhesive effectiveness will not be diminished if these changes occur.
  4. Tissue section will strongly adhere to treated slide from first contact; position section carefully.
  5. To prevent formation of water blisters trapped between paraffin section and glass, drain and dry sectioned slides in a vertical position.
